## Instamojo sells payments and gives you a store. GoCommerce is the store, and you pick the payments.

Instamojo is a payment gateway first, and its online store comes with that gateway built in: nothing to connect, and a fee of 5% + ₹3 a payment — 2% + ₹3 on the Growth plan billed yearly. GoCommerce is a backend you run, paired with a gateway you choose. On Growth the fees are close; the difference is who owns the store.

Arithmetic from the published fees; GST is added on both sides. On Lite and Starter, Instamojo costs ₹6,600 a month more than Razorpay’s standard rate at this volume. On Growth billed yearly, the gap is the ₹3 a payment — ₹600 here — plus the plan — a sum that hosting and upkeep can easily outweigh. Against Instamojo, GoCommerce’s case is ownership, not fees.

#### Choose Instamojo when

- You want to take payments and sell today, with no gateway to apply for and nothing to host.
- You are on Growth billed yearly: at 2% + ₹3 a payment, the store and the gateway cost about what a gateway alone would.
- You sell a small catalogue and would rather pick a theme than touch code.
- You also sell through payment links or landing pages, and want one Instamojo dashboard for all of it.

#### Choose GoCommerce + Svelte Commerce when

- You are on Lite or Starter and prepaid sales are growing — 5% + ₹3 a payment is more than twice Razorpay’s standard rate.
- You want to choose, or change, your payment gateway without changing your store.
- You need catalogue depth the plans cap — more images per product, stock held at several locations.
- You need several storefronts, B2B price lists or marketplace vendors.

#### What you take on

- You host it: a server, a PostgreSQL database, backups and upgrades are yours, or a developer’s you pay.
- No app store. What a module does not cover, somebody writes.
- GoCommerce has over 1,000 tests, but no store we know of runs it in production yet.
- Svelte Commerce reaches GoCommerce through an early connector, version 0.1.0: catalogue, cart, checkout and order lookup work; customer accounts and a search index do not.
- The gateway account is yours to open: GoCommerce takes online payments only through a provider you sign up with.

### Questions about Instamojo and GoCommerce

**What does Instamojo charge per sale?**

Instamojo’s online store charges 5% + ₹3 per payment on Lite and Starter, and 2% + ₹3 on the Growth plan billed yearly, each plus GST. Its pricing page says the payment gateway comes integrated with no additional charges, so that fee covers payment processing.

**How much are Instamojo’s store plans?**

Lite is ₹0 a year, Starter ₹6,999 a year, and Growth ₹14,999 a year or ₹2,999 a month; a store built for you by Instamojo’s team is priced on request. GST is charged on top of those prices.

**Is GoCommerce cheaper than Instamojo?**

Against Lite and Starter, once prepaid sales grow: Razorpay lists 2% + GST, against Instamojo’s 5% + ₹3. Against Growth billed yearly, barely — the difference is ₹3 a payment plus the plan, and a server can cost more than that. Choose GoCommerce for ownership and depth, not to save on fees.

**Can I use Razorpay with GoCommerce?**

Yes, through the payments-razorpay module, which calls Razorpay’s API directly. Eight other payment modules — Stripe, Adyen and Hyperswitch among them — are there if you choose differently, and cash on delivery needs none.

**Can Svelte Commerce be the storefront for an Instamojo store?**

No. Instamojo is not among the 26 backends Svelte Commerce connects to. Paired with GoCommerce, Svelte Commerce reaches it through an early connector, 0.1.0, covering catalogue, cart, checkout and order lookup; customer accounts and search are not covered yet.
