KitCommerce vs Zoho Commerce

## Zoho Commerce takes no cut of your sales. It counts your products instead.

Zoho Commerce is a hosted store builder in Zoho’s family of business apps, priced in rupees and with no transaction fee on any paid plan. What its plans ration is products, users, currencies and inventory locations. GoCommerce and Svelte Commerce are MIT source you run yourself: nothing is rationed, and nothing is run for you.

- **0%** Zoho Commerce’s transaction fee on paid plans — this is not a fee argument
- **500** product listings on Zoho’s Standard plan; 10,000 on Premium and Plus
- **15 days** the shortest gap Zoho allows between full data backups

KitCommerce is an open-source ecommerce platform. Its packages are GoCommerce, the backend and admin, and Svelte Commerce, the storefront — MIT licensed, used together or either one on its own. On this page, each claim names the package it is about.

### Zoho Commerce and GoCommerce, side by side

Zoho Commerce’s side is taken from its pricing page and help centre, linked at the foot of this page; ours from the GoCommerce and Svelte Commerce pages on this site. Where the two are level, the row says so.

*Zoho Commerce compared with GoCommerce and Svelte Commerce, checked 25 September 2026*

| Aspect | Zoho Commerce | GoCommerce + Svelte Commerce |
| --- | --- | --- |
| What it is | A hosted store builder, one of Zoho’s finance apps alongside Zoho Inventory, Billing, Invoice and Checkout. | An open-source platform you run, in two MIT packages: a Go backend with its admin compiled in, and a SvelteKit storefront. |
| Software price | ₹599, ₹1,799, ₹3,499 or ₹4,999 a month on Standard, Professional, Premium and Plus, billed yearly (₹999 to ₹5,999 month to month), plus tax. Enterprise is priced on request. | Nothing. Both packages are MIT licensed. |
| Fee on each order | None on any paid plan, by Zoho’s own pricing FAQ. Level with GoCommerce. | None. Your gateway’s fee is the only one. |
| Plan limits | Set per plan: 500 products, 2 users and 2,000 customer accounts on Standard; 10,000 products and 10 users on Premium and Plus. Extra users are ₹150–₹180 each a month. | None in the software. Products and customers are rows in your PostgreSQL; the server is the limit. |
| Inventory locations | 3 on Premium and Plus, then ₹600–₹720 a month for each extra one. Not offered on lower plans. | Stock per location in core — on hand and reserved — on every install. |
| B2B | Price lists, quote requests and credit limits for business customers, from Premium. | Customer groups, price lists, quantity breaks and scoped API keys in core. No quote or approval workflow. |
| Payments in India | Zoho Payments (UPI, cards and net banking in INR), Razorpay, Paytm, Stripe, PayPal and Verifone, plus offline methods such as cash on delivery. Razorpay Magic Checkout and GoKwik as checkout options. | Razorpay, Stripe, Adyen, Hyperswitch and five more as modules; cash on delivery built in. |
| Shipping in India | Integrations with Shiprocket, Delhivery, Easyship and AfterShip, among others. | Modules for Delhivery, Shiprocket, India Post, NimbusPost and seven more carriers and aggregators. |
| Sales channels | ONDC on every plan; WhatsApp commerce from Professional. | Channels, each with its own published catalogue and price lists; feeds for Google Merchant Center and Meta catalogues. No ONDC or WhatsApp connection. |
| Changing how it works | A theme editor with Liquid custom-code sections, and custom modules and functions from Premium. The platform code is Zoho’s. | The source itself. Checkout, pricing and order flow are Go you can change and redeploy. |
| AI agents | An official Zoho Commerce MCP server, connected through Zoho’s MCP hub. | An MCP module with 19 tools that goes through the same domain services as the REST API. |
| Your data | A full backup to CSV or XLS at most once every 15 days, sent as an emailed link; the product export API returns up to 25,000 rows. | Rows in your own PostgreSQL, which you can query and back up as often as you like. |

### What each side costs

With no fee per order on either side, this comes down to a Zoho plan against a server and somebody’s time. For a small store without a developer, the Zoho plan is usually the cheaper line.

*Recurring costs, Zoho Commerce against GoCommerce and Svelte Commerce*

| Cost | Zoho Commerce | GoCommerce + Svelte Commerce |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Software | ₹599 to ₹4,999 a month, billed yearly, before tax; a ₹99 micro-store plan covers 25 products | ₹0 |
| Fee per order | None | None |
| Payment processing | Your gateway’s rate; Zoho’s Razorpay help page says Zoho adds nothing | Your gateway’s rate |
| Growing past a plan | Extra users and inventory locations as monthly add-ons; more products means a higher plan | Nothing to buy — a bigger server when you need one |
| Hosting | Included | A server and a PostgreSQL database, from a small VPS upward |
| People | None needed to launch | A developer to deploy, maintain and extend it |

Zoho Commerce’s case is strongest here. At ₹599 to ₹4,999 a month with no fee per order, the plan costs less than a developer’s time for most small stores. The reasons to choose GoCommerce over Zoho are control and limits, not price.

### Which one fits

#### Choose Zoho Commerce when

- You already use Zoho Inventory or Zoho Billing and want the store inside the same suite.
- You need quote requests or credit limits for business buyers — GoCommerce has neither.
- You want to sell on ONDC or through WhatsApp without building the connection.
- There is no developer on the team, and a few thousand rupees a month is the whole budget.

#### Choose GoCommerce + Svelte Commerce when

- Your catalogue is past 10,000 products, or on its way there.
- You want the database itself, not a backup you can request once a fortnight.
- You need to change checkout, pricing or order logic, not only the theme.
- You want marketplace vendors with approval states, or several storefronts with their own price lists, on one backend.

#### What you take on

- You host it: a server, a PostgreSQL database, backups and upgrades are yours, or a developer’s you pay.
- No app store. What a module does not cover, somebody writes.
- GoCommerce has over 1,000 tests, but no store we know of runs it in production yet.
- Svelte Commerce reaches GoCommerce through an early connector, version 0.1.0: catalogue, cart, checkout and order lookup work; customer accounts and a search index do not.
- No ONDC, WhatsApp commerce or quote workflow. Each would be code you write.
- No connection to Zoho’s apps. If your accounts live in Zoho, a sync is yours to build.

### Moving from Zoho Commerce

There is no importer for Zoho Commerce, so this is a project, not a button.

Zoho gives you the data: a full backup in CSV or XLS, and a product export API that returns up to 25,000 rows at a time. GoCommerce gives you somewhere to put it: 342 documented REST operations, published as OpenAPI, for a script to write against.

Svelte Commerce has no Zoho Commerce connector, so there is no halfway step of keeping Zoho and changing only the storefront.

FAQ

### Questions about Zoho Commerce and GoCommerce

**Does Zoho Commerce charge a fee on each order?**

No. Zoho’s pricing page says it charges no transaction fee on any paid plan, and its Razorpay help page says Zoho adds no fee of its own. That puts it level with GoCommerce on this point; the differences are plan limits, hosting and code.

**Is Zoho Commerce cheaper than running GoCommerce?**

For a small store without a developer, usually yes. Zoho’s plans run from ₹599 to ₹4,999 a month billed yearly, before tax. GoCommerce costs nothing to license, but a server and a developer’s time are real costs.

**Zoho Commerce has an MCP server too. What is different?**

Zoho’s MCP server is run by Zoho and reached through its MCP hub. GoCommerce’s MCP module is compiled into your own binary and exposes 19 tools — orders, stock, prices, refunds, reports — through the same domain services as the REST API, never the database directly.

**Can GoCommerce connect to Zoho Inventory or Zoho Billing?**

Not out of the box: there is no Zoho module. The webhooks module and the documented REST API are where such a sync would start, and somebody has to write it.

**How do I move my store from Zoho Commerce?**

Export it — Zoho offers CSV or XLS backups and a product export API — and write a script against GoCommerce’s documented API. There is no ready-made importer for Zoho.

**Is there a hosted version of GoCommerce, like Zoho Commerce?**

No. Neither package has a hosted offering, a paid tier or an enterprise edition. You run both, on your own server or a developer’s.
